SSL Certificates
Protect your visitors with industry-standard encryption and trusted certificates.

SSL Certificates
An SSL certificate switches your site to HTTPS: the connection between the visitor's browser and your server is encrypted, and the browser shows a padlock instead of a "Not secure" warning. Here you can buy an SSL certificate at three validation levels: DV, OV and EV. All three encrypt equally well; they differ in how thoroughly the owner of the site is checked before the certificate is issued.

What you get
Which level suits whom
DV suits blogs, portfolios and most small sites: it confirms only that you control the domain. OV adds a check of your organisation and puts its name in the certificate, which fits company websites and customer portals. EV has the most extensive checks and is meant for shops, financial services and other sites where proven identity matters most.
DV free with shared hosting
On our shared hosting a DV certificate is included at no charge: it is issued once your domain points to us and renewed before it expires. You only need to buy one for a site hosted elsewhere, for a server, or if you need OV or EV.
What happens after you order
Add the certificate to the cart and pay on the Stripe payment page. Validation then begins: for DV you confirm control of the domain, for OV and EV the details of your organisation are checked. When validation is complete, the certificate is issued and can be installed on your site.

Frequently asked questions
- Which SSL certificate do I need?
- For a personal site, a blog or a small business site, DV is enough: it gives full encryption and the padlock. Choose OV if visitors should be able to see in the certificate details which company runs the site. EV is worth the extra cost where the strictest identity check matters, for example for online shops and payment or financial services.
- Is a DV certificate less secure than OV or EV?
- No. All three levels use the same encryption, and current browsers show the same padlock for each of them. The difference lies only in validation: how thoroughly the site owner was checked before issuance and what information about the owner the certificate contains.
- How long does it take to issue a certificate?
- It depends on the validation. DV is the fastest, because only control of the domain is checked. OV and EV take longer, as the organisation is checked, and part of the time depends on how quickly the requested information is provided. The certificate is issued as soon as validation is complete.
- Do I need to buy SSL if my site is on WebHostFlow hosting?
- Not on shared hosting: DV is included free, issued automatically once the domain points to us and renewed before it expires. You pay only if you want OV or EV, or need a certificate for a VPS, a dedicated server or a site hosted elsewhere.
- Can I get a refund for an SSL certificate?
- SSL certificates are non-refundable once issued, because the certificate authority's costs cannot be recovered. It is therefore worth double-checking the domain name and, for OV and EV, your organisation's details before ordering. The 30-day money-back guarantee covers new hosting and server plans; the details are on the guarantee page.
